Today the Olympic torch was lit for the Paris Olympic Summer Games.  There is a whole ceremony that they go through in Olympia involving women dressed as priestesses, calls to Apollo to bless the games, and the lighting of the fuel-filled torch by holding a parabolic mirror to use the Sun's power to set it aflame. Most may not realize that the torch is first carried by the Greek throughout the country and then handed off to the country that is holding the Olympics that year.  The first carrier this year is Stefanos Ntouskos, who is a gold medal winning rower for Greece and will compete in Paris as well. The torch will travel 5000 Km across the ancient home country of the Olympic games, held by 600 different bearers, to Panathenaic Stadium in Athens where it will be handed over to the Paris games team.   The Paris Olympic organizers have planned a unique voyage for the torch from there!  It will travel by ship to the French port city of Marseille on the 120-year-...

Shame on you Nike!  I am constantly amazed by how the uniforms for women get smaller and smaller and how companies see this as "perfectly fine" while touting their DEI standards.   Really folks!  Do we have to do this again!  I do not want to see butt cheeks (or worse!) when I'm watching Team USA's runners hurdle, pole vault, or high jump!  Supposedly, there are multiple options but I haven't seen the whole Team USA "kit" yet.   The picture above shows enough though and PINK?!?!  Really?  This is not a Barbie movie it is the Olympics and Team USA's colors are RED, WHITE, and BLUE !   Read more on this story over at The Guardian here:   Nike taking heat over uniforms This is not the first time that a Teams' womens' uniforms have been called into question either!  Take a look at this story about Team Norway's women's uniforms:   Team Norway Shame on You!

  Katie Ledecky is one of my all-time favorite Olympians!  She sets the bar so high that most of the time she finishes races 1/2 length or more over her competitors!  Distance swimming is her thing and she kicks butt!   In Paris, she could win even more medals making her the most awarded American woman EVER!   Here's a great post about Katie!  You just gotta watch her!  Link below should take you to Instagram post: Katie's gonna win more in Paris!
