Enchanting.....

....and boy were they ever!
The most unique opening ceremony for an Olympic Games I've ever witness!
I watched the live version and the Primetime version....I'm glad I did watch both. The editing helped with some of the Paris acts along the Seine but the Primetime version didn't show everything, including the speeches and they rushed the ending a bit.
It was beautiful, artistic, and otherworldly!
Lady Gaga performed a classic French tune with classic French moves. Can you believe that they never rehearsed it! Wow...such a talent!
We heard the bells of Notre Dame which haven't rung in Paris since that horrible fire.
There was dance and art and fantastic music! Art in the Seine, Minions in a submarine, a nod to France being the home of motion pictures, and a classic scene from Les Mis!
Athletes in boats on the Seine....fabulous!

Here are LeBron and Coco on Team USAs boat with the Flag. I have to say that the Bionce Intro for Team USA was awesome!
All the athletes debarked at the Eiffel Tower and the Spirit of the Olympics road down the Seine on a fantastical horse!
...and delivered the Olympic Flag to the pole. I have no idea who that rider was but I'm going to try to find out.
The torch was carried throughout the ceremony by a fantastic phantom Torchbearer who was dressed a lot like the Assassin's Creed Character and took us on the fantastic journey through Paris. They never revealed who that Torch Bearer was but I think it was David Bell who basically invented Parkour in France! Hopefully they will confirm this week that it was him.
Then we had the torch carried by fantastic Olympians (not just French ones either) back down the Seine and to the Tuileries Garden where an amazing Hot Air Balloon Cauldron awaited along with the oldest French Olympian still on this Earth. When he took the torch, I just lost it! Hot Air Balloon was first launched in Paris. Best Cauldron EVER!
...and if that wasn't enough.....then Selene Dion sang from the Eiffel Tower which was on fire with all the lights! She was fabulous!
What a way to open the games! Bienvenue à Paris
